Job Opportunity: Attendance Officer – Tameside Area (Immediate Start) Are you an experienced, highly-organized individual with a passion for supporting student success and welfare? We are urgently seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join our team at a vibrant school in the Tameside area. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving student attendance and promoting a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Monitor Attendance: Accurately track student attendance on a daily basis, ensuring all records are up to date and reflect current patterns. Engage with Families: Proactively liaise with parents and guardians to address attendance concerns and offer support for students facing challenges. Supportive Interventions: Work with students, staff, and families to identify barriers to good attendance and implement strategies to resolve them. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure attendance procedures comply with school policy and local authority guidelines. Prepare regular reports for senior leadership and assist with attendance audits. Attendance Improvement Plans: Work collaboratively with school leadership to develop and implement strategies aimed at improving attendance and reducing truancy. Key Skills & Experience: Previous experience in an administrative or school-based role, ideally as an Attendance Officer or in student welfare. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. A proactive, solution-focused approach to addressing attendance challenges. Familiarity with school attendance software and record-keeping systems is desirable but not essential.
