Job Title: Senior Associate (6+ PQE) – Commercial Property / Real Estate.

Location: Edinburgh

Reporting To: Senior Partners.

Job Purpose:

Our client, a highly regarded law firm in Scotland, is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Real Estate team. This role involves working on significant development and investment transactions across various property sectors, including mixed-use developments and commercial assets. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple teams and manage their own transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising investors, developers, and operators on commercial property transactions, including lease and management agreements.
  • Supporting lenders in financing major real estate acquisitions.
  • Handling transactions related to Build to Rent, mixed-use developments, and social infrastructure projects.
  • Assisting in residential development transactions for national housebuilders.
  • Managing investment sales, acquisitions, and land assembly.
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, sale contracts, and funding agreements.
  • Providing strategic legal advice on commercial property matters.

Main Tasks:

  • Collaborating with senior legal professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conducting title reviews and overseeing development projects.
  • Negotiating agreements for office spaces, retail, and mixed-use properties.
  • Advising on forward funding arrangements and land transactions.
  • Conducting site visits when necessary.
  • Utilising legal technology to enhance service efficiency.
