Are you an experienced FTTx Site Supervisor looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee field activities, ensuring that civil works, cable works, splicing, and testing are executed to the highest standards, in line with health and safety regulations and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily on-site installation and build progress, ensuring subcontractors meet agreed milestones and quality standards.
- Review and interpret Build Packs, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to the latest versions of method statements, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Validate and report variations or changes impacting cost or schedule.
- Ensure all necessary materials are ordered and available before work commences.
- Supervise work execution, managing subcontractor engagement and resource allocation.
- Track and approve subcontractor progress, ensuring timely reporting and updates.
- Conduct site handovers and quality acceptance of all deliverables.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of As-Built documentation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including road authorities, municipalities, and asset owners.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance, conducting site risk assessments and ensuring adherence to Nokia’s safety standards.
- Investigate and support resolution of local authority enforcement notices and penalty charges.
- Collaborate with Material Managers to track and manage site material usage and waste disposal.
- Supervise subcontractor test executions and review test documentation for quality assurance.
- Identify, report, and mitigate project risks, ensuring continuous improvement and cost-efficiency.
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous supervisory experience on large UK FTTx projects.
- Strong understanding of FTTx architecture and design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Confident communicator with strong leadership qualities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CDM Regulations, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Fluent in English (reading, written, and spoken).
Mandatory Certifications:
- SA001 Safety Overhead
- SA002 Safety Underground
- NRSWA Supervisor Level
- SSSTS/SMSTS Qualification (desirable)
- Asbestos Awareness
- Knowledge of Openreach PIA processes, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
- Highway Sector Schemes training relevant to low and high-speed roads.
- Strong understanding of H&S practices for traffic management, excavations, and underground asset avoidance.
Desirable Qualifications:
- MEWPs for Managers Course (for aerial works)
- NEBOSH Certification
- SA005 / SA006 Certifications
