UTA are looking for an Agent to join the Production Arts team in London.
You will join a fast-paced and dynamic team and will be responsible for growing the careers of Directors of Photography, Producers, Production and Costume Designers, Editors, and other key department heads, as well as signing new talent to our roster.
What You’ll Do:
- Effectively position our clients so that they win work and grow their careers
- Provide career advice and strategy to our clients when needed
- Negotiate deals and contracts for our clients
- Build relationships with up-and-coming talent to source new clients
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of major film and television projects in the UK
- Continually communicate with producers about their hiring needs, especially for projects about to start production
- Grow and develop a network of key industry players, including production companies and financiers
- Hold regular meetings with production companies and producers to ensure in-depth knowledge of the industry and recent developments
- Read and assess scripts, to have an opinion on whether an opportunity would be right for our clients
- Visit sets when appropriate (to support our clients and meet other industry figures)
- Review and distribute press and reviews related to our clients
- Attend screenings, award ceremonies and film festivals when necessary
What You’ll Need:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the film and television industry
- Agent or management experience is ideal, but production-adjacent experience (i.e. Motion Pictures or Television) is also welcome
- A passion for the craft of creating great film & TV
- A general knowledge of the production landscape in the UK and Europe
- Knowledge of entertainment unions, guilds and their contracts
- An openness to some travel (when required, e.g. for film festivals)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in your work.
- Discretion at all times, particularly when dealing with sensitive client matters.
- Experience of using social media platforms.
- Ability to prioritize a busy workload.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships.
