Reference: 1893472 Job title: Hospitality Assistant Salary: £24,739 rising to £26,584 after 12 months, plus an allowance of £600 per annum Location: Portsmouth Area Closing Date: Tuesday 17th December 2024 at 23:59 Location: Portsmouth Area Hours: Full time – 42 hours (shifts of early and late starts between 07:30 & 20:00) The Role As a Hospitality Assistant, youll be a key member of the housekeeping and front of house team delivering an outstanding service to all visitors of our residential training centre. Youll carry out a wide variety of tasks that will ensure our students can concentrate on their studies and the training theyre undertaking. Day to day, youll be on hand to clean communal areas, serve meals and prepare training rooms. As trainees go about their day, youll tidy communal areas and ensure bedrooms are perfectly presented. In everything you do, youll be efficient, helpful and friendly. This is the perfect role for someone who loves working in hospitality but wants to say goodbye to long and unsociable hours. Occasional weekend work is expected, but youll be paid overtime when you volunteer for it. Plus, your shift hours will be between 07:30-20:00 (either an early or late start). About You Were looking for an adaptable person, able to undertake a range of hospitality tasks , and whos passionate about providing excellent customer service. Someone who loves to get stuck in and keep things ticking over. Youll be as keen to have a conversation during dinner service as you are to efficiently meet and greet new arrivals. Its all about taking care of everything in the background so everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Youre hard working and happy to contribute positively to the work of your team. You can follow the lead as well as take it, working confidently unsupervised. Youre adaptable, flexible and discreet. You dont need any qualifications for this role, just customer service experience (ideally having worked in catering or a hotel) and a proactive approach to your work. Above all, youll have a positive attitude as you play a crucial part in creating an inclusive, enjoyable environment where people feel at ease and at home. Training and Development As well as all the training you need to get the best start in your role, youll receive ongoing training to help you thrive. When you join us, youll attend a 3-5-day induction and get loads of support (including a buddy) to help you settle in, as well as COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), Manual Handling, Health and Safety, and Fire Prevention training.
