Job Title: Finance Assistant Location: Chelmsford Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 Salary: 27K – 29K depending on experience and qualifications. About the Role Join a fast-paced finance team as a Finance Assistant! You'll have hands-on experience in key accounting tasks like invoicing, reconciliations, payments and financial admin. This role is crucial to keeping day-to-day financial operations running smoothly while supporting accurate reporting. Key Responsibilities Process and code invoices with accuracy and efficiency. Conduct reconciliations, including supplier statements and bank transactions. Handle payment processing, including settlements and refunds. Assist with daily financial operations such as direct debits, receipts, and cashflow management. Support query resolution related to finance transactions and discrepancies. Maintain purchase ledgers and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly. Perform general administrative tasks to support the finance department. Person Specification Prior experience in an accounts or finance-related role is desirable. Partially or fully AAT qualified (or hold an equivalent finance qualification). Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing. Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
