We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Ward Clerk on Ward 4 at Coalville Community Hospital.

Ward Clerks are a vital part of our very busy inpatient multi-disciplinary teams. You will often be the first point of contact on the telephone or face to face for visitors, relatives and external clinicians so you will be responsible for providing an excellent first impression.

The ward provides care to patients who are medically fit for discharge and are awaiting assessment for a placement in a residential home or rehabilitation for discharge to their own home.

You will always be visible and a source of knowledge and support for staff to ensure the smooth running of the ward., * To be the first point of contact for relatives and carers, answering telephone calls with patience and understanding.

  • Providing day to day administrative and clerical support to the multi-disciplinary team.

  • Supporting the staff to maintain excellent standards of record keeping, ensuring that all admissions and discharges are recorded correctly.

  • Answering queries from visitors to the ward including professionals, signposting to other members of staff as required.

  • Exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances may occur indirectly.

The post available is 15 hours per week which will be worked as two days 08.00 – 16.00 across a 7 day per week rota. If you are highly organised, have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people then this role is for you!
