Company: Established manufacturing/ joinery company Job Title: Prototype/ CAD Engineer Salary: £35-45k + excellent bonus Location: Brownhills We are seeking an experienced Prototype/ CAD Engineer for a our client, a bespoke joinery/ manufacturing company based in the Walsall area. Role: The overall expectation of the role is producing drawings to the appropriate level of detailing (including specialist materials) for joinery construction. You will interact and work collaboratively with clients, architects, interior designers and design professionals as well as the joinery production line. You will take the lead role in controlling drawings from concept through to construction, ensuring they are consistent, accurate, signed off and to budget. Be able to assess costs / identify cost savings etc. Requirements: Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing and CAD or Solidworks design experience. Excellent communicator who can build relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers A basic understanding of woods. veneers, finishes for wood such as stains and lacquers An understanding of steel, mild steel, stainless steel, box sections, folding and CNC lasering of steel A basic understanding of components such as fixings types, machine screws, nuts bolts, hinges Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong aesthetic and technical design skills and awareness. Other experience including high end shop fitting / bedroom furniture / joinery shops will also be considered
