Job Description
Braintree Precision Components, part of the Hepco Group, have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Engineering Team Leader to join our existing production team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful applicant will be working within our Grinding and Turning cells.

Scope:
The role will be to manage and motivate a team of 30+ operatives, ensuring production targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and health and safety regulations are fully adhered to. Also, to ensure in-house time and attendance systems are completed accurately and internal policies and procedures are followed by all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining a positive workforce and developing an effective team-working environment.
- Promote safe working practices adhering to H&S and HR policies.
- Actively develop team members technical ability, productivity and key competencies through coaching and supporting, addressing performance issues and improving skills.
- Identify skills gaps, implement and review training plans to support the business needs.
- Plan & participate in regular team briefings, developing a culture of trust, communication, transparency and collaboration within the team.
- Planning, organising and prioritising the workloads of turning and grinding cell personnel to ensure production targets are met.
- Key person in ensuring KPI targets on safety, quality, cost, efficiency and delivery are achieved.
- Maximise the Overall Equipment Effectiveness performance.
- Adhere to lean principals and working practices including 5S.
- Maintain the in-house Time Management System on a daily basis, including holiday bookings, attendance etc
- Adhering to and policing all company policies and procedures, reporting repeated non-compliance to the Production Manager.
Key Skills:
- Strong leader with previous experience of people management to include employee engagement, motivation, performance and development.
- Experience of working within an engineering environment in a similar role with demonstrable knowledge.
- Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Appreciation and implementation of lean principles including 5S and SMED
- Excellent IT and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Sound knowledge and experience of health and safety compliance.

ILM qualification or equivalent or time served

Hours of Work:
Monday-Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm 39-hours per week
Friday: 7:30am – 3:00pm
Hours can be flexible for the right applicant.
Additional hours at overtime rate may be available to suit business demands.
