As the Technical Support Chemist, you will work within the Waste Treatment Division (WTD) and visit new and existing customers to assist with the listing, segregation, labelling, collection and disposal of their hazardous and non-hazardous waste. You will assist the Commercial Team with the technical assessment of enquiries, the preparation of transportation documentation and preparation of data for invoicing., * Flexible benefits including high street savings, cycle to work scheme and Gymflex membership, holiday purchase and many more.

What will you be doing?

  • To provide support to WTD clients/ customers by listing, segregating and labelling packaged chemical waste on their premises as required

  • To provide the necessary information so that chemical waste can be safely transported within current legislation

  • To ensure all necessary labels and transport documentation, including lists where appropriate, are accurate, available and conform to current legislation

  • To safely transport packaged chemical waste as required to permitted waste disposal sites as instructed by the Commercial Team

  • To assist WTD drivers as necessary with labelling or segregation of their loads

  • To assist the Sales Team as required by sampling loads and providing advice to customers

  • To maintain and develop positive relationships with clients and provide continued support and advice as necessary

  • A degree in chemistry or related subject

  • Must have full, clean driving licence and licenced to drive 7.5T vehicle or under

  • ADR Training and experience of segregating and transporting chemicals is an advantage

  • Confident with using MS Office suite

Salary – Circa of £30,450 per annum (plus benefits)

Hours – 45 hours per week, 8.00am to 5.00pm, This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week Monday to Friday, on a fixed term contract.
