The Role
An experienced Senior Java Engineer is sought to develop APIs and integrate with Temenos / T24 banking systems. This role requires expertise in backend development, high-performance systems, and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will work on scalable banking solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance platform functionality, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Implement and optimise core banking features.
- Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of financial systems.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage cloud-based services (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Work closely with product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of Java development experience.
- 5+ years of experience in API development.
- Strong background in Temenos / T24 transaction processing.
- Expertise in relational (Microsoft SQL) or non-relational (Jbase) databases.
- Experience in production support environments.
- Solid understanding of test frameworks and software quality practices.
- Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
- Knowledge of security best practices in financial systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile, fast-paced environment.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
