Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, to recruit a Mechanic on an ongoing temporary contract basis to work from their offices in Ballymena.
Your new role
Reporting to the Area Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that maintenance repairs to Housing Executive homes are carried out to exacting cost, quality and time standards in accordance with the terms of contracts.
Thoroughly examine and inspect the condition, roadworthiness and safety of any vehicle or equipment, applying correct inspection techniques, reporting the findings and making recommendations to workshop supervisor. Service, repair and prepare vehicles for PSV/MOT in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, to job times laid down by management.
Conduct routine repairs and major services on a broad range of ground maintenance equipment. Apply appropriate diagnostic techniques to
Determine the cause s of defects in vehicles, plants, components and systems, including use of diagnostic computers. Make any recommendations
For changes or modifications designed to improve safety.

You will be paid via Hays on a weekly basis.Whilst this role is offered on an ongoing temporary contract basis, it is our understanding that NIHE will recruit this position on a permanent basis in due course.
