Job Description: Logistics Manager – Tooting Mixed-Use Scheme Role Overview: We are seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee the logistics and material handling operations for a large-scale, mixed-use development in Tooting. The project includes new, refurbished, and existing flats, along with non-residential units. You will manage a team of labourers, coordinate the movement of materials, and ensure all tasks are executed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and direct the labour on site, ensuring material handling tasks are completed safely and securely. * Coordinate the delivery and movement of materials into site and to secure storage, monitoring stock levels and installation requirements. * Liaise with the installation team, site manager, and project manager to plan material needs and monitor compound storage capacity. * Oversee material call-offs from the compound to the installation workface, ensuring smooth transitions for the installation team. * Schedule delivery slots and hoist times through the booking system, coordinating with off-site logistics contractor. * Maintain the ‘Lift Materials Logistics Planning Document,’ tracking materials from call-off through delivery and installation. * Coordinate sub-contract logistics, balancing delivery slots, storage space, and material movement requirements. * Attend daily logistics meetings to plan for the following day’s operations. Requirements: * CSCS card holder (required). * Slinger / Signaller qualification (preferred, or willing to obtain). * Appointed Person (AP) qualification is desirable but not essential. * Strong construction site experience; lift knowledge not required. * Demonstrable experience in managing site logistics and directing operatives. * Confident, self-motivated team player with excellent organisational skills.
