Our Client exists to match passionate chocolate makers with extraordinary cacao that leaves a positive impact. They build direct and long-lasting bridges that connect artisans to spectacular, sustainable, and socially conscious cacao, reducing the distance from bean to bar while supporting farmers and environments crucial to producing unique and flavourful origins. They are a small dynamic team that sell to over 100 customers in over 20 countries throughout Europe and continue to grow.
As a Sales representative, your main responsibilities are to focus on the European market and work with the European Sales Manager to connect bean to bar makers with the amazing portfolio of cacaos as well as ensure services and products match our customer needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage sales across EU and client relationships including: existing customers, growing portfolio of new customers, produce quotes, generating sales contracts.
- Coordinate with Traffic/Logistics Coordinator for post sales/delivery satisfaction.
- Review and update sales presentations/tools depending on type of sales outlet or trade factor
- Update management by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Understand the market by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Understand the value chain process from our origins to understand and be able to explain the complexity and value add of company services.
- Work with the Commercial Manager in Europe to analyze sales and understand opportunities to maximize profit
- Work with Head of Cacao along with global team on business analysis including month end closing analysis of sales, operations and overheads
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Develop flavor profile communication on the portfolio of beans, analyze potential new bean sourcing opportunities
Skills & Experience Required:
- A minimum 1 year work experience in a sales role or experience in cocoa agricultural development/worked in craft chocolate or equivalent experience.
- Experience in bean to bar chocolate making
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English and French (basic Spanish would also be a plus).
- Be a self-starter, able to build relationships and potential sales across the European market.
- Excellent organization skills, able to manage the unexpected, prioritize, and maintain a sense of humor while aiming to deliver excellent service to customers and support to your team
- You are detail oriented, analytical and have solid excel skills
- Attitude: problem solver and high sense of client servicing
