At Dexory, autonomous robots are a critical part of our product offering. We design and build our robots in house and are building new purpose built spaces for assembly, testing and product demos.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior CNC Machinist to join our dedicated team in Wallingford. As an experienced CNC Machinist you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating our machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. In addition you will also have a strong understanding of machining techniques, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to delivering top-quality products.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Deputise and support the CNC Production Technical lead whilst being a primary resource for programming
- Safely and efficiently operate CNC machines to produce components as per engineering drawings.
- Doosan Vertical with Nikken 4th Axis mill with Fanuc control
- Doosan Lynx 2100 LSYA lathe with Fanuc control
- Tormach 770 Vertical
- Tormach 15L Lathe
- Work with engineering on new designs and give input for design for manufacture
- Schedule work and allocation
- Choose appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for each job
- Provide inspection resource for both first article and interim checks
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and report any issues to the maintenance department
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and production issues during the machining process
- Ensure all safety guidelines and protocols maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain and update documentation of machine setup, tooling, and production data
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to achieve production goals
Requirements:
- Experience with CNC milling and turning and CNC programming
- Knowledge of G-code and CAM software (we use Fusion 360, prior experience not essential )
- Knowledge of Solidworks would be advantageous but not essential
- Experience with quality control
- Strong communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills
