Advanced Research Engineer – Structural Analysis

Part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, the National Composites Centre (NCC) is an independent, open-access technology centre focused on addressing some of the world’s most complex engineering challenges.

We’re on the lookout for talented individuals to grow our Structural Engineering team which contributes vital analysis work to innovative projects with world-renowned customers across a variety of industries; notably aerospace, energy and defence among others.

So, what are we looking for?

  • You’re a highly capable engineer, bringing a heavily analytical perspective to your work. You have significant experience in finite element analysis/modelling of composite structures and can use a variety of analysis and simulation packages.
  • A broad understanding of composites is essential, along with the ability to select the best approach for the task.
  • You’re comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary composites project team and understand the impacts and limitations of your analysis to other disciplines.
  • Working with a range of different industries and dealing with sometimes unfamiliar requirements is a challenge that interests you.
  • You’re able to meet the requirements of UK SPEC competencies for Chartered Engineer (or equivalent level).
