We are looking to expand our Exeter team with an Electrical Engineer.

Overview

Based in our Exeter office you will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team of around 90 Engineers and Technicians. The office is known for its friendly and supportive work environment where personal development is fostered across a breadth of interesting and wide-ranging projects. You will be part of our Water Sector Team providing design expertise in collaboration with major UK companies across the country including South West Water, Severn Trent Water, Wessex Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water. Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will join an established team of MEICA Engineers, supporting multidisciplinary design schemes, to assist with the delivery of projects within the Water sector, as well as providing support to a group of highly motivated, developing Engineers and Technicians.

Projects vary in size and complexity and may involve optioneering, outline design or detailed design. The work may be directly for the water companies or via a Contractor as part of a design and construct contract.

Duties are likely to include the following:

  1. Perform technical or professional work activities to assure delivery which meets client requirements and is in accordance with relevant standards.
  2. Collate plans and schedules and monitor work to meet deadlines, company quality assurance and other requirements.
  3. Liaise and engage with clients and third parties as required.
  4. Take a role in promoting health, safety, welfare and sustainability/environmental matters in all areas of your work.

What Qualifications, Experience & Skills are required?

Essential

  • Relevant degree or experience.
  • Full driving licence.

Preferred

  • Chartered/Incorporated or working towards this.

Experience

  • Min 2 years on completion of qualifications.
  • Working for water industry clients.
  • Relevant design experience.

Skills

  • Communication skills; Verbal & Written.
  • Motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Use of Microsoft Office.
  • Use of CAD / Revit and a working knowledge of BIM.
  • Working knowledge of BS7671.
