Summary: Also referred to within the industry as a Cost Consultant or Commercial Manager, the role of a Junior M&E Quantity Surveyor is to monitor and be involved in the management of project finances and contractual relationships. They ensure that the financial position of Dowds Group M&E projects are accurately reported and controlled effectively. They'll be involved in the contractual relationships between the various parties involved in any particular project and require a high level of commercial and contractual awareness. The role will be based in NI The Role: Preparation, submission and agreement of Interim Applications and Final Accounts. Submission and agreement of Variations, Dayworks etc. with the Main Contractor/Client. Sub-Contractor Interim Payments including site measure, Payment Notices, Pay Less Notices and Final Accounts. Liaising with Contract Managers in the procurement of Sub-Contract packages of work and preparation of Sub-Contract documents. Support in monitoring the progress of the Works. The preparation and issuing of contractual notices and/or correspondence to Clients, Dowds Suppliers and Sub-Contractors. Preparation of cash flows, monthly cost reports and analysis of budgets. Preparation of the monthly Commercial Reviews and presentation at the Project Review meetings. Review of contract documents. Criteria: Degree educated in Quantity Surveying (Graduates can Apply). 2+ years experience as an Estimator / QS. Experience in the construction industry with a knowledge of estimation and pricing. Basic working knowledge of different form of contracts. IT literate in Excel and Word, and design software such as AutoCAD. Attention to detail, Organised approach to workload, Confident communicator. UK Driving Licence, able to travel to site when required.
