Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager will assist the Head of Business Development in maximising occupancy across existing services, leading business growth, and adapting to evolving market demands. This position involves managing multiple projects, coordinating with teams across regions, and ensuring business objectives are achieved through effective stakeholder management and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
• Assist the Head of BD in implementing the organisation s overarching business strategy.
• Lead feasibility studies to identify new opportunities for business expansion, ensuring projects align with market needs and commissioner demands.
• Work with operational teams to develop and execute localised business plans aimed at service modernisation and maximising occupancy.
• Oversee major capital and non-capital projects, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timelines and objectives.
• Monitor service occupancy levels and implement targeted promotional plans to optimise capacity and service use.
• Prepare and submit compelling tender responses to secure new business and maintain high occupancy rates.

Business Growth & Development
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to design and develop commissioner-led services.
• Take the lead in negotiating new developments, service remodelling, and fee increases.
• Develop detailed business plans for new projects, clearly identifying budgetary requirements, expected returns, and alignment with strategic goals.
• Represent the organisation at relevant events, seminars, and conferences, promoting the services and expanding networking opportunities to drive further growth.
• Use data and CRM systems to identify trends, assess potential growth areas, and strengthen pathways within the organisation.

Communication & Collaboration
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal colleagues, directors, and external partners to ensure smooth communications and alignment across operational areas.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure business goals are met and strategies are executed efficiently.
• Establish and maintain systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports for decision-making.

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development and project management, with a strong understanding of market trends, service delivery, and growth strategies. This role requires a highly organised and results-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while leading cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Experience:
• Significant experience in business development within health and social care or related sectors.
• Strong project management experience, with the ability to oversee large-scale projects and geographically dispersed teams.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse market trends and develop actionable business plans.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and data analysis to inform growth strategies.
• Proactive and able to lead change, with a strong focus on achieving tangible business results.
• Degree level or equivalent (Health & Social Care / Business)
• Experience in working in health & social sector
