Our client, a well-established and expanding organisation based in Plymouth, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their innovative finance team for a temporary period of 2 to 3 months. Ideally, they are looking for someone who can start immediately.

As the Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of daily finance functions, driving strategic financial initiatives, ensuring data integrity, and providing critical insights that support organisational growth and informed decision-making.

The responsibilities:

  • Provide crucial support during organisational restructuring, collaborating closely with senior leadership and the finance team.
  • Manage comprehensive financial reporting, including store-level analytics and group-wide consolidation.
  • Execute in-depth analysis of complex datasets to derive actionable business insights.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of key financial metrics, ensuring accuracy in sales, profit margins, and inventory figures.
  • Play a pivotal role in statutory compliance, contributing to account preparation and tax calculations for multiple business entities.
  • Manage critical month-end processes, including journal entries and balance sheet maintenance to identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee asset management, including meticulous record-keeping of acquisitions and disposals across the group.
  • Spearhead process optimisation initiatives, focusing on data integrity and system modernisation to enhance overall financial operations.

The candidate:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant with a recognized certification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
  • Demonstrated experience in management accounting, with a strong track record of delivering financial insights.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and drive informed decision-making.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
