IOCP is a nonprofit that provides services in food, case management, emergency financial assistance, employment services, and childcare resources to those residing in eight Western Hennepin County cities. We are looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including general accounting and reporting, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting and assist with all other aspects of the organization’s financial management.

What You Will Do
- Manage the month-end financial close, making sure all accounts are reconciled monthly, variances explained, and the month is closed in time for committee and board meetings
- Manage grant accounting, including tracking restricted funds, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and preparing financial reports for funders.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with leadership and program managers
- Review and approve invoices for payment
- Generate and distribute 1099s to vendors and the IRS
- Recruit, train, supervise and coach staff
- Supervise and approve payroll process
- Develop and enforce AP policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance
What You Will Bring
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Business
- 5 years of experience, with 2 years of experience in nonprofit preferred
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, accounting, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Must have exceptional Microsoft Excel skills plus other advanced computer and database skills, experience with Financial Edge a plus
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to produce and analyze financial data for accuracy and to support fact-based decision making
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking, prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines
