Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Days Location: Bolton Pay Range/details: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Omega are currently working with a work leader in packaging technology, specialising in providing high-performance packaging equipment to the beverage sector. An Electrical bias, Maintenance Engineer, will be responsible for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of state-of-the-art packaging equipment. Expertise in Mitsubishi PLC’s will help support fault finding, system design as well as generally ongoing support. There is opportunity to work in the field and part of your time will be on customer sites within the UK and even potential for some European travel. Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer Commissioning new equipment, ensuring all machinery is fully operational and meets performance expectations. Troubleshooting electrical systems, including Mitsubishi PLCs, to identify and resolve issues. Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on packaging equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for clients. Replacing parts and upgrading systems as necessary, providing long-term reliability. Collaborating with clients to offer technical support and recommend improvements for enhanced system performance. Training client staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. Managing your own schedule to efficiently meet the needs of clients. Completing detailed service reports to document tasks, issues, and resolutions. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm Qualifications & Requirements – Maintenance Engineer Time-served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in electrical engineering. Experience in Mitsubishi PLCs, including system design and fault-finding. Previous experience within FMCG, food & beverage, or manufacturing. Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills. Flexibility to travel across the UK and even internationally if required. Full clean driving licence.
