Data Business Analyst

Location: Remote (Occasional travel to Manchester and/or London)
Contract: Inside IR35
Day rate: Up to £550
Duration: 6 months (potential 12-month extension)

The Client is a leading supply chain company who have been operating for over 80 years with around 12,000 employees globally, in over 60 countries.

We are seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst to join a leading client’s Advanced Analytics Program. The role focuses on two critical projects:

  1. Customer Index Score: Collaborate with a SAS Solution implementation team and internal business stakeholders. Experience in working with third-party vendors and internal teams is essential.
  2. Self-Service ThoughtSpot: Focus on data mapping and enabling internal users with a “low code” tool for data analysis. Experience in data mapping/mining with outputs into Business Intelligence and Reporting tools is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.
  2. Map data fields and integrate them into the Data Hub from systems such as SAP, Salesforce, and Business Warehouse.
  3. Collaborate with Solutions Architects and developers to ensure seamless data integration.
  4. Define metrics and calculations to support analytics and reporting in Power BI dashboards.
  5. Navigate and mine data catalogs, verifying data availability or identifying integration needs.
  6. Act as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  7. Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Proven expertise as a Business Analyst in data-focused projects involving source systems, data hubs, and dashboards.
  2. Hands-on experience with data mapping, data mining, and business intelligence tools (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Power BI).
  3. Strong technical knowledge of data integration and analytics workflows.
  4. Ability to synthesize complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights.
  5. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  6. Track record of collaborating with third-party vendors and internal teams on advanced analytics initiatives.
