This role is critical to provide expertise and lead the Area Control team within the Rostering & Deployment team within NERL operation. Aiming to provide an effective operational service to our airline customers and service our internal demands.

What you\’ll do:

Responsible for co-ordinating and delivering the rostering services to the NERL operation:

  • Deliver a high-quality rostering service to the NERL operation, ensuring every customer receives an effective output
  • Line management of Resource Planning Analysts, including leadership, coaching, training, development and pastoral care
  • Alongside the Resource Planning Team Leaders, responsible for ensuring aligned services across the operation and providing challenge where inconsistencies appear
  • SME for customers within Area Control, while maintaining the appropriate knowledge of other areas to provide contingency and resolution to any concerns
  • Remain current in your understanding of all rules and their impact on the individual and business, at all levels. Highlighting where potential improvements could be made
  • Responsible for quality and compliance throughout the roster lifecycle
  • Drive continuous improvement within the department and directorate
  • Support the Resource Planning Analysts in deploying operational staff to activities in an efficient and effective manner
  • Hold a sound understanding of the financial implications of rostering actions and highlight any concerns as appropriate
  • Act as a technical expert on the use of the resourcing tools, driving alignment of use and proactively suggest and co-ordinate improvements, ensuring the impact on all users has been considered

Who you\’ll be:

Applicants should hold relevant experience within a resource planning discipline or have relevant professional qualifications, demonstrating the following skills:

  • A detailed understanding of resource planning and working practices
  • Experience in the use of a rostering/resource planning tool
  • Direct line management experience, including people development, coaching and performance management
  • Effective stakeholder management and engagement
  • The ability to take day to day responsibility for the execution and reporting of assigned tasks
  • A good knowledge of resource planning, ensuring that all requestors of operational resource are aware of the implications of their resource request. Providing alternatives where necessary
  • Ability to produce well documented, high quality, clear and concise reports
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Sharepoint and Word
