Amina Muslim Women’s Resource Centre (Amina MWRC) is an intersectional organisation, by and for women, dedicated to empowering Muslim and Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women in Scotland by giving them opportunities to have their voices heard and to improve their skills and become more confident in participating in their own communities and at a wider level.
Founded in 2001 on the principles of community development, our work is underpinned by community empowerment, participation and partnership working. Amina MWRC envisions an inclusive world where Muslim and BME women fulfil their aspirations, striving for inclusivity and societal fairness.
Job Role
The role aims to increase the employability prospects of Muslim, Black & Minority Ethnic (BME) women. The Employability Project Officer will engage with, empower, and support Muslim and BME women of all backgrounds, skills, and abilities via provision of our holistic, tailored employability support service.
Muslim and BME women face additional barriers to work and so a flexible and creative approach will be required. As well as individual action planning, the Officer will support individuals with job search, CV building, job applications and interview techniques.

Background of Dundee International Women’s Centre
DIWC has been in existence over 55 years and aims to promote and create opportunities for women’s social, political and economic inclusion and for the advancement of education. The Centre has developed an expertise in working with women, particularly those from black and ethnic minority communities, living in Dundee and environs and runs a programme of social, recreational and educational activities along with speciality projects.
DIWC reviews its aims and objectives on an annual basis, setting out clearly the work of the Centre for the forthcoming year. In order to ensure the effective implementation of these objectives each staff member is expected to contribute to the planning process and to prepare and work to an individual work plan in relation to their key areas of work.

Main purpose:
The RES Education and Support Worker will lead a project to develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of education and training on Violence Against Women (VAW), with a specific focus on the experiences of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women, both within the centre and in the wider community. The role involves delivering learning sessions on various VAW topics, providing 1:1 support to women attending the centre who are experiencing domestic abuse, offering assistance with disclosures, and linking women to specialist VAW services in Dundee. The role will ensure the identification of risk, focusing on safety and support through a trauma-informed approach.
An exciting role for a Solicitor is vacant on a collaborative project by Scottish Women’s Aid, Shetland Women’s Aid, Women’s Aid Orkney and Baker Gostelow Family Law. The project and post is funded by the Legal Education Fund. Legal services are provided by, and the successful candidate(s) will be employed by, Baker Gostelow Family Law.
The successful candidate will take a collaborative and sensitive approach to delivering legal information, advice and representation where we identify unmet legal need to women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse being supported by Women’s Aid Orkney and Shetland Women’s Aid.
Legal casework and Court representation will largely focus on family law matters such as separation, contact and residence, as well as on related areas such as housing and financial claims arising from separation. The successful candidate may also be asked to contribute to policy, training and research. Candidates must have some experience in family law and an awareness of domestic abuse and the criminal justice process. Training on these areas will also be provided.
The Young Women’s Movement is Scotland’s national organisation for young women and girls’ leadership and rights: working collectively, leading meaningful change and creating a more equal society. Young women are at the heart of everything we do. Our movement is informed, shaped and led by and for young women and for over 100 years, we have been a collective force that has, and will continue to, change things for the better for all young women across Scotland.
Our Programme Worker will work directly with young women and girls to create safe spaces and equip them with skills and confidence to lead change on issues that matter to them, supporting them to amplify their voices in their communities and in decision-making spaces.
This role will support the planning and delivery of a wide range of programmes using a youth work approach, both in-person in schools, communities and further education settings and online and will work hard to extend our reach to even more young women and girls.
