Job Description

Duration: 6 months

The successful candidate will work with stakeholders to elicit their requirements, explore suitable solution options, make recommendations for the solutions to move forward with, and then see those solutions through to full implementation. Throughout this entire process, the successful candidate will evidence exemplary stakeholder management to keep all parties informed of the status of product discovery and delivery efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with the Group Product Manager and other senior stakeholders to define the overall strategy and direction for your product area.
  2. Identify internal customers to deliver first-class tools and services to meet customer needs, developing close relationships to understand user needs, existing pain points, and opportunities for improvements.
  3. Define your core platform metrics for your products; maintaining a strong focus on monitoring and measurement of your products; be accountable for the end-to-end success of your product.
  4. Size opportunities (with engineers), prioritise the roadmap, and set targets for your team that will stretch them and meet business goals.
  5. Ensure the team has well-defined epics and stories to work against aligned to OKRs. Write functional specifications that define the expected behavior of your products.
  6. Work collaboratively with a team of developers, designers, testers, analysts, researchers, and others to create products that delight your users.
  7. Work with agile coaches and your team to drive continuous efficiency improvements.
  8. Communicate with multiple key stakeholders to keep them up to date and bought into your product development, managing change effectively to minimise disruption, manage dependencies, and ensure adoption throughout the vertical.
  9. Work closely with the Engineering Manager and the team to identify and manage technical debt in a sustainable manner whilst delivering against the agreed OKRs.
  10. Keep on top of industry trends and standards, and put those to good use in your own products.
  11. Present to colleagues and stakeholders the future direction and plan for your product; balancing simplifying complex areas with storytelling and explanation, managing change effectively to minimise disruption with the front-end teams, manage dependencies, and ensure adoption of new tools and services.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Experience working as a Product Manager, Technical Business Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst within a technically complex team.
  2. Great presentation skills with the ability to elaborate on various technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders; this is key to this role.
  3. Have a proven track record of delivering high resiliency and high availability technical products.
  4. Good technical understanding of web technologies, API design and development; data and cloud technologies.
  5. Proven experience of working effectively with diverse stakeholders across the business.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  7. Outstanding communication skills.
  8. Analytical in approach and naturally curious.
  9. Great organisational skills and ability to deliver results working collaboratively in agile teams.
  10. Experience building, using, and managing Product Roadmaps.
  11. Capability to plan and prioritise effectively; comfortable with ambiguity and pragmatism when plans change.
  12. Research and stay up-to-date on current technological trends, both internally and externally.
  13. Continuously builds commercial, market, and technical knowledge and leverages knowledge and insights to anticipate customer and product needs.
  14. Identifies where to find systems data and monitors these daily.
  15. Shows a data-driven approach to decision making.
  16. Uses an iterative approach to continuously test, learn, validate, and improve their product.
