This role is a 12 month contract to cover maternity.

The Head of Learning & Leadership development will design, deliver and implement development interventions which evolve and enhance our leadership teams and drive high performance. It will provide leadership to the Learning & Development team of two , making sure that all of our colleague learning interventions are aligned with business needs.

Working options:

We’re open to full time or a 4 day working week for this role. What is important is that your preference is to be office based. We’re really collaborative as a People team/organisation and especially due to the nature of the role, we’re keen to see applicants who are keen to be office based.

What we’re looking for:

  • A confident communicator, who has experience of designing and delivering creative bespoke and innovative leadership development offerings to a accommodate a wide range leaders
  • Ideally you’ll have worked in a similar sized organisation (1000 colleagues) that operates in an everchanging fast paced manner within a matrix structure
  • You’ll have managed a team of L&D professionals (2 in this role), offering clear direction and support
  • You’ll be adaptable, with the ability to change your approach to different needs and objectives
  • You’ll be an expert in understanding behavioural principles, relationship management and conflict resolution, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive culture

What you’ll be doing:

  • Evolve and implement leadership development, equipping current and emerging leaders with the skills needed to excel in a rapidly growing and changeable environment.
  • Partner with the Bruntwood Board and Scitech Executive Management Team to identify leadership development needs and align initiatives with business needs.
  • Work closely with Head of and Director level leadership teams to drive personal and team effectiveness, promote culture and engagement and ensure inclusive and empathetic leadership behaviours permeate the business.
  • Facilitate coaching, mentoring, and training activities across all leadership levels, including leadership assessment and feedback exercises, workshops and development planning support.
  • Monitor and measure the success of leadership initiatives, adjusting approaches to maximise impact.
  • Support the Head of People and People Partnering colleagues with tools and recommendations to drive effectiveness of the leaders they work with.
  • Work with the Learning & Development Partner to ensure a seamless pipeline and transition from aspiring management, through to management development, and a clear pathway to supporting future leaders.
  • Build relationships with external leadership suppliers used by the business and where needed manage the relationship and coordination of activities.
  • Coach the team on design, implementation, and evaluation of engaging learning programmes to enhance skill development, career progression, and business capability.
  • Drive succession planning and talent mapping initiatives either through supporting People Partners in their areas at a team level, or through leading on these activities directly with senior leaders
