Fire Safety Adviser

Location: London

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Hybrid, 3 days a week onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Fire Safety Adviser to support the development and implementation of fire safety policies, risk assessments, and compliance measures across multiple campuses. Working within the Health & Safety team, this role ensures adherence to fire safety legislation, industry standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and review fire risk assessments, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and British Standards (BS 9999, BS 9991).
  • Provide technical fire safety advice to staff, students, and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety policies, procedures, and training.
  • Support fire safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Health & Safety team to ensure a safe and compliant campus environment.

Person Specification

Essential:

Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety (or equivalent).

Proven experience conducting and reviewing complex fire risk assessments within large organizations.

Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, building regulations (ADB), and British Standards.

Desirable:

Experience in higher education, healthcare, or large estates.

Familiarity with fire safety management systems and emergency planning.
