Job Description
Are you a skilled Business Analyst with a passion for technology and transformation? Join our Group Technology team and play a pivotal role in one of Legal & General’s largest transformation programmes. This programme is a key component of our Transformation Office strategy. You’ll work across various L&G divisions, supporting new technology initiatives from inception to delivery. If you’re ready to bring structure to vision, drive problem resolution, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to achieve impactful outcomes, we want to hear from you!
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery activities to define Problem Statements and/or Opportunity Definition and elicit requirements/user stories from stakeholders.
- Deriving and defining business requirements, working with other workstreams within the programme to drive problem resolutions and/or enable opportunity enablement through fact-finding for requirement gathering.
- Supporting the Sub-Workstream Delivery Leads in developing mandates (business cases) for new initiatives and driving through the L-gate approval process with the Transformation Office; from feasibility analysis to inception and through to delivery (where required).
- Acting as an expert counsel to bring structure to vision and ideas; and conducting feasibility to give shape to business cases.
- Managing and influencing senior stakeholder alignment and communication at various levels across multiple business areas and divisions.
- Scoping and shaping the analysis approach, whilst identifying best practice opportunities, to help develop the target enduring ideation process.
- Capturing and documenting Target Operating Models, incorporating processes, organisation, technology, and information themes, using a variety of business analysis techniques.
- Documenting requirements (in Jira if required) and managing and progressing backlog items working with the wider team.
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- Having a business analysis qualification (preferred) but not essential.
- A demonstrated understanding of agile frameworks and backlog definition and prioritisation techniques.
- Familiarity with customer-centric design techniques.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office.
- A sound understanding of contemporary technology infrastructure, e.g., cloud, service-based architecture, and data management.
- Experience in business analysis, preferably in a financial or technology industry.
- Experience with multiple software delivery methodologies (Agile Scrum, Waterfall).
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes.
- Generous pension contribution.
- Life assurance.
- Private medical insurance (permanent employees only).
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday.
- Competitive family leave.
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice.
- There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online.
- In 2023, some of our workspaces were redesigned. Our offices are great spaces to connect and collaborate and have your wellbeing at the heart.
