The Opportunity

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our Programme Management Practice. In this role, you will collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs and contribute to our mission of renewing utilities. You will leverage your knowledge of the utilities sector and Gentrack products to support project delivery across various phases.

As a Business Analyst, you will facilitate workshops, elicit requirements, and work closely with technical teams to ensure that solutions are effectively implemented. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and grow professionally within a supportive and collaborative environment.

This role involves occasional travel to customer sites, as required.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Delivery:

  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand business requirements and objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage all discovery workshops.
  • Create and own the Requirements Traceability Matrix, ensuring all requirements are captured, tracked, and met.
  • Support the Project Manager in the creation and management of project documentation, including RAID logs and project plans.
  • Lead the creation of Product Design / Blueprint documents.
  • Analyse and define business requirements; user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with technical teams to develop effective solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Provide expertise in both Agile (preferably Scrum) and Waterfall methodologies, adapting processes as appropriate for each project.
  • Facilitate and attend meetings such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in Business Analysis activities.
  • Implement and promote the use of standard tools and methodologies across the team.
  • Utilise industry knowledge to help with the transition from requirements to implemented functionality.
  • Ensure all RTM items are reflected in Delivery Engineering workloads and sprints.
  • Manage Jira tickets, including change requests and answering requests for support.

Industry and Product Knowledge:

  • Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of Gentrack products and the utilities industry.
  • Share industry and product knowledge with the team and customers.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments, ensuring that Gentrack solutions remain at the forefront.
  • Provide input into product direction regarding functionality.

Customer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Facilitate workshops and elicit customer requirements effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Educate customers on processes, procedures, and the benefits of Gentrack systems.
  • Support the Migration Lead through each data tranche, educating customers on process and procedures.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards.
  • Provide support for testing activities, including triaging issues and facilitating resolution.
  • Provide testing services to external customers as required.
  • Provide on-site support services, including incident and support triage and resolution.

What We\’re Looking For – You don\’t need to be a guru at everything; we\’re looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you. The ideal candidate will have:

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, in the utilities sector- Knowledge specifically related to commercial activities such as pricing, forecasting or trading or Market Wide Half Hourly Settlements (MHHS) preferable.
  • Familiarity with Gentrack products and solutions.
  • Experience working with Gentrack\’s software products, including implementation, configuration, and optimisation.
  • Understanding of software development processes and methodologies, including both Agile (preferably Scrum) and Waterfall environments.
  • Experience working in Professional Services or Consultancy environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of business processes.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical and business concepts effectively.
  • Experience with requirements management, including use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements traceability.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Agile qualifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master).
  • Business Analysis qualifications (e.g. IIBA certification).
