Personal Care Performance Management

Personal Care accounts for ~23% of Unilever’s Turnover and ~27% of Operating Profit. PC operates in three core categories with the #1 position in Skin Cleansing and Deodorants, and the #4 position in Oral Care globally. The portfolio includes iconic brands including €1bn+ brands like Dove, Rexona, Lux, and Axe and other brands such as Lifebuoy, Pepsodent and Closeup. The Business Group has a balanced geographical footprint between emerging and developing markets, creating unique opportunities for future growth.

The Personal Care Performance Management (PCPM) team is responsible for both short and long-term performance planning and review for the Personal Care Business Group within Unilever. In this role, PCPM works collaboratively across Business Units, Category/Country teams and Global Business Units to drive PC’s strategy and financial growth model and is the analysis vehicle for dynamic resource allocation.

PCPM supports its key stakeholders through in-depth analytics, factual interpretation of current realities, internal and external perspectives, and thoughtful communication.

JOB PURPOSE

The Agile Performance Management Analyst key responsibilities include consolidating, understanding, analysing, and presenting actual results and forecast at the BG level, both for financials and competitiveness metrics. The role must ensure accuracy of Personal Care results while collaborating with key stakeholders to drive transparency in key performance metrics. The role is also responsible for multi-year performance of the BG, developing agile models to build PC FGM by BU and Category, working on strategy framework, and supporting the target setting process and in-year target updates. All these tasks will require developing models to collect, analyse & present different scenarios to drive performance conversations, partnering with and supporting Business Unit and BG teams.

Additional responsibilities include support / in-depth analysis of key P&L components such as BMI, Overheads, and other performance metrics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Monthly/Quarterly reporting/planning cadence including BG-BU Performance, Forecast Reviews, and support for monthly CEO / CFO reviews.
  • Monthly in-depth results and forecast analysis to drive in-year performance delivery and dynamic resource allocation across categories, cells, and BUs.
  • Identify and communicate key risks and opportunities and support initiatives for intervention.
  • Understand how competitive Personal Care is across the market by reviewing value and volume performance versus key competitors.
  • Support in building PC FGM for the 3-year strategic plan by BU and Category detail.
  • Supporting PC target-setting process by BU and in year target updates.
  • Ad-hoc analysis to support PC LT performance discussions, actions, and prioritization.

  • A strong academic, financial, and analytical background.
  • Relevant experiences in finance or related roles.
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and bias for action.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including working with large amounts of data in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and presentation).
  • Ability to directly work with business partners of varying seniority.
  • Resilience in dealing with uncertainty; Problem solving for unstructured briefs and stretching deadlines from senior management.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive mindset.
  • Working in multi-cultural environment and dealing with stakeholders from multiple countries and time zones with flexibility.
  • Be resourceful: Agile interventions for value creation and allocating extra capacity for BG critical deliverables.
  • Continuously drive future-proof reporting and analytics tooling alongside with UniOps (embracing technology transformation for simplification, automation, and scale IA solutions).

Location

In 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars (“100VE”), Lever House in Kingston and Graze in Richmond, the build is due to be complete in early 2025. Most recently, in August 2024, we announced our intention to retain our premises in 100VE until our lease expires in 2027.

We are due to consult with our existing workforce on the new proposal to retain 100VE for the duration of our lease. Therefore, until such a time consultation has concluded as to the retention of our 100VE office, this role will be based in 100 Victoria Embankment until early 2025 and then will move to the Kingston Campus.

Relocation to the UK
