Creative Counselling Manager role
Salary: £36,095 pro rata (term-time only). This is a one day per week role and the actual salary is £7,219
Hours: 7 hours per week (one day)
Location: College in Hillingdon (UB8), one day per week
This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in developing this key area of our work. Your strong management skills will help enhance the quality and reach of these vital services, ensuring many more vulnerable children can access the support they need.
We are looking for an experienced mental health professional. The Creative Counselling Manager will oversee the delivery of therapeutic services in a college, provide support to children and young people, manage a team of training therapists, and liaise with the college, families, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Your qualifications and skills
- Recognised qualification in Counselling, Play Therapy, or Creative Arts Therapy
- Qualification in CBT or DBT (or willingness to obtain)
- At least 300 hours of post-qualification clinical experience
- Strong understanding of child development and experience working with children/young people, particularly those with trauma
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and child protection procedures
- Ability to work creatively and engage children/young people effectively
- Full membership/accreditation with an appropriate professional body (e.g. BACP/UKCP/BAPT/HCPC), where applicable to your qualifications
- Experience in delivering mental health services in schools
- A good understanding of child development and childhood mental health disorders
