SENIOR DESIGNER

TEAM – CREATIVE MARKETING

Location – London Office – Hybrid

As a Senior Designer at Axon, you will be responsible for working closely with the Senior Art Director and the creative team to elevate every project from concept to final delivery. Ensuring the highest standards of quality and creativity is essential to delivering projects that are not only beautifully crafted but always considerate of the brief requirements while pushing the envelope. The right candidate for this role will be tenacious in their pursuit for creative perfection, hungry for change and enthusiastic about taking on new projects. Creativity and passion:

As a Senior Designer you will be expected to:

  1. Showcase a strong knowledge of the creative process from concept to final delivery.
  2. Lead and support the design and development of creative projects, including campaign materials, branding, marketing materials, digital assets, and product packaging.
  3. Present design concepts and proposals to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making revisions as necessary.
  4. Contribute to the overall creative strategy and vision of the company, bringing fresh ideas and innovative solutions to the table.
  5. Create, organise, structure and present well-considered design solutions that helps to meet clients’ objectives.
  6. Deliver strong ideas and a high level of craftsmanship across all elements of design.
  7. Be able to talk passionately and knowledgeably about the work with an understanding of the business challenges that design can solve.
  8. Take pride in crafting the finest detail with evidence of exemplary typographic and design skills (illustration skills are advantageous).
  9. Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Time management:

As a Senior Designer you will be expected to:

  1. Accurately enter time in Maconomy and submit expenses by the deadlines set, using appropriate job codes.
  2. Maintain creative excellence, timeliness and profitability.

Project management:

As a Senior Designer you will be expected to:

  1. Adhere to professional standards of file management and project workflow.
  2. Work with the client services team to ensure all work produced has gone through the correct internal review process.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including client services, marketing, and scientific/medical teams to ensure cohesive and effective design solutions across the business.
  4. Develop and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all visual communications for both internal and external projects.
  5. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  6. Oversee the production process, including coordinating with external vendors and ensuring the quality of final deliverables.
  7. Act as design guardian for clients’ brands ensuring colour, type and visual equities follow brand standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Hold a degree in graphic design or similar.
  2. Be highly proficient in key Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator are a must. Extra software knowledge is advantageous).
  3. Have at least 3-5 years’ experience as a Senior Designer.
  4. Experience with working in the scientific/pharmaceutical industry as a designer is not essential but would be advantageous.
  5. Showcase and evidence a strong design portfolio of both professional and personal projects you have worked on.
  6. Experience in 3D, traditional or digital illustration is advantageous.
