Job Description
Purpose of the Job
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Information Security Project Specialist to join our team and lead the implementation of Data Loss Prevention initiatives across the organisation. This role is critical in safeguarding sensitive business data, ensuring compliance with relevant security standards, and fostering a culture of security awareness within the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the rollout of Data Loss Prevention frameworks, managing security-related projects, and developing and delivering employee training on best practices for data security.
Main Responsibilities
- Project Management & Execution: Lead and manage projects focused on implementing Data Loss Prevention strategies, tools, and technologies within the organisation. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet security standards.
- Information Protection Implementation: Oversee the deployment of information protection policies and technologies, including data classification, encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), and access controls.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Technology, Functions, and Service Lines to ensure seamless integration of Data Loss Prevention measures across various systems and workflows.
- Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver comprehensive information security training programs to all employees, tailored to various user roles and responsibilities. Promote awareness of data security policies and best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness of Data Loss Prevention strategies and make recommendations for improvements based on feedback, audits, and emerging threats.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed project documentation, status reports, and training materials. Report on progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security, with a focus on project management, data protection, and employee training.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR. Experience with information protection tools, including encryption, DLP, and identity management systems.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing cross-functional initiatives. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent) are a plus.
