Site Manager
Location: Wakefield, Normanton – various sites
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 38.75 hours per week

Your new role
What you’ll do:
The role of the Site Manager is to supervise a project from acceptance to completion for this local authority client in Wakefield. You will meet the demands of production, profitability, safety, quality, and manage contractors to ensure that pre-set targets in terms of health and safety, scope, quality and programme are met. You will ensure that designs and specifications are adhered to.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure the safe delivery of all works
- Liaise with the customer, clients and design team.
- Work closely with the Small Works Manager and wider project team to report on live sites.
- To develop work programmes and to monitor progress against agreed programmes as appropriate.
- Develop and/or assess Method Statements and Risk Assessments together with the Health & Safety Plan and to observe the requirement of the CDM Regulations in the status of Principal Contractor.
- Provide leadership and support to contractors on site to ensure they are adhering to company standard forms of practice.
- Compile site folders by obtaining necessary pre-construction information & construction phase plans.
- Expedite materials and information release from design team.
- Day to day planning of operations and problem solving.
What you’ll need:
- A relevant diploma or professional qualification in a Building discipline or have equivalent experience from a trades background
- Reasonable experience in a similar operational role.
- First aid certificate
- SMSTS
- Temporary works is desirable but not essential
- An understanding of M&E is preferred but not essential
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List Check before starting in the job.
