I’m working with a fantastic organisation as they look to add an IT Systems Administrator to their growing IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organisations IT infrastructure, with a particular focus being put on the organisations networks as they look to upgrade and reconfigure their current Fortinet networks. In addition you’ll be a point of escalation for the IT team, supporting staff both in the Aberdeen office but also those working remotely in the field with technical support.

Your day-to-day:

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of network devices, servers and IT infrastructure devices.

  • Manage the organisations network infrastructure, covering switches, routers and LAN/WAN.

  • Be a point of escalation for IT technical support across on-site hardware, applications, network devices and telephony.

  • Troubleshoot issues both in-person and remotely across hardware and software, resolving issues prompty.

  • Responsible for the installation, testing and troubleshooting of computer systems and devices.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues.

  • Manage firewalls, antivirus software and cover vulnerability management across the organisations networks.

  • Support with the installation and upgrading of new software rollouts.

  • You’ll have proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or similar.

  • Strong experience of networking devices, network configuration, LAN/WAN and patch management.

  • Experience working within a Microsoft environment and troubleshooting a range of hardware and software.

  • Knowledge of various operating systems and the ability to carry out root cause diagnosis and troubleshoot.

  • Knowledge of scripting within PowrrShell, Python or Perl is desirable.

  • Experience liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify issues and communicate potential solutions.
