Our client, a fast-paced multi-site SME, is seeking a part-time Finance Director (2-3 days per week) to lead their finance function and provide strategic financial guidance.
The Role
Reporting to the business owner, the Finance Director will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting while working closely with the Managing Director and operations & commercial teams. The role involves managing a finance team of five, with support from an experienced Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide strategic financial insight to support the business owner and leadership team.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and operations team to drive business performance.
- Manage and mentor a team of five finance professionals, ensuring strong financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
- Support decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
About You
- A proven Finance Director with SME and multi-site B2C experience e.g. retail, service sector or leisure & hospitality.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and business strategy.
- A hands-on, commercially focused approach.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
