Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Process, Change and Readiness, the Head of Process Improvement owns the process improvement portfolio to generate value through process improvement across the business and operation. You will lead a team of continuous improvement & data professionals in the identification, development, and delivery of process solutions as well as data analytics services.
The role works collaboratively across the business to understand and prioritise opportunities, influencing solutions and working with business sponsors to deliver improvement and drive efficiency. As the Head of Process Improvement, you play a key role in defining and leading Heathrow’s Process Improvement strategy and operating model, encompassing people, process, tools, and data. You will support and influence across all departments, throughout the Heathrow supply chain and from within industry bodies to achieve the business priorities whilst staying aligned to the business values.
Success is defined by the realisation of business benefits, the continued development of a high performing team, and the advancement of the business towards a process centric culture.
Your role will involve
- Safety, Wellbeing, Leadership and Development of the Process Improvement Team & Analytics Team, defining the team philosophy and aligning to it
- Championing a business partnership approach with internal stakeholders by supporting their analytical needs with the right service offerings
- Ensuring key insights are communicated in a timely manner in digestible and visual formats that stakeholders can easily understand and apply
- Developing a clear understanding of business/stakeholder strategies & end user requirements to drive and optimise process solutions for the Heathrow operation
- Delivering process improvement initiatives to drive out business value and sustained improvement making use of data & insights to inform thinking and benefits assessment & realisation
- Championing and challenging process efficiency in all business areas – ensuring process change is considered and balanced alongside people, technology, and infrastructure to ensure best business value & outcomes
- Collaborating with the business change teams to ensure effective and embedded process delivery is transitioned into operational use as part of wider change initiatives
- Providing insight on best practice from wider industries and airports to inform relative benchmarking of Heathrow capabilities
- Championing a process fitness first approach, continually seeking to use data & business understanding to unlock new insights and improvement to business processes

- Strategic thinker with the ability to think short, mid, and long term, identifying opportunities or areas for improvement

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
