Pastoral Support Teacher. Full Time. Northamptonshire.

ASAP start. Your new company Hays Education have recently seen an increased need for local Special Educational Needs Teachers in Schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply with the potential for permanent contracts. Here at Hays, we work with a number of schools across Northamptonshire, covering the areas of Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley and all the in between!

This means as a Teacher working through Hays you will have local work in your local area covering schools that only you want to work in. We are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) Secondary School in Towcester for young people aged 11-18 with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties who have not been able to settle happily into mainstream provision. The school is a growing school, currently with over 63 students.

The school has a vocational hub provision on site as well as following the National Curriculum, which enables it’s students to develop their skills in an area they are passionate in such as Motor Vehicle Studies, Construction, Hair and Beauty and Engineering. Your new role We are currently recruiting for a full time Special Educational Needs Teacher to join the team ASAP on a temporary – permanent basis. We are looking for exceptional people who thrive on working in challenging settings to work with the schools exceptional pupils.

The appointed person will be expected to make a real and positive impact to the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities that makes every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage student(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with living and learning tasks as appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed The appointed candidate will be a confident teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. Hays welcomes more experienced teachers as well as ECT’s who are confident working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and/or challenging behaviour. Hays also welcome applications from graduates who hold a relevant degree and have experience of working with children.
