Microfluidic Device Manufacture and Subcontractor Management

This high-tech business is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and in doing so revolutionising their field. They are now manufacturing key components of their products in-house and are seeking a talented manufacturing engineer to join the team and continue developing and scaling their capabilities. You will also assist in the management of their subcontractors and supply chain.

In this role, you will work on a variety of projects from procurement and commissioning of new production equipment to working with R&D teams providing DFM and NPI guidance, and from developing test and inspection protocols to growing contract manufacturers’ production capabilities. This is a role that will challenge you daily and provide real opportunities to grow and develop your skills and knowledge.

You will need to demonstrate a proven track record in high-tech manufacture and specifically have knowledge of the fabrication of microfluidic devices. A good understanding of plastic welding and injection moulding as well as clean room assembly will be key for a successful candidate. Alongside these specific skills, good general knowledge of modern manufacturing best practices will be required, including statistical process control, data analysis, production part approval process, automated assembly, first article inspection, and quality control.

You will be based in their new manufacturing facility close to the head office in Cambridge. While a manufacturing role, flexible working hours are on offer and other benefits include an enhanced pension scheme and private medical insurance.
