JSS Search are hiring for a newly created Commercial Analyst to join the team based in central London. Reporting to the CFO, you will closely with the senior leadership team to provide valuable insights and support to enhance business performance. Key responsibilities include:

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Generate and present reports, dashboards, and KPIs to stakeholders.

Revenue & Cost Management:

  • Monitor revenue streams and profitability metrics.
  • Evaluate costs and assist in developing strategies to improve cost efficiency.
  • Benchmark the company’s performance against competitors and industry standards.
  • Lead and prepare the monthly commissions calculations in partnership with Finance.
  • Market Research & Competitor Analysis.

Business Performance Monitoring:

  • Owner of short term and medium term business forecast.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Highlight variances between forecasts, budgets, and actual results with actionable insights.

Operational Support:

  • Assist in pricing strategies, contract reviews, and sales pipeline analysis.
  • Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis for new business initiatives.
  • Support process improvement across the business.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align commercial goals.
  • Support senior management with ad-hoc analysis and decision-making tools.

You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. The ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to stakeholders clearly and effectively. The role requires commercial awareness and understanding of business operations. A curious, creative and willing to challenge mindset, a proactive and self-motivated approach. Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a similar role (e.g., Commercial Analyst, Business Analyst, or Financial Analyst), preferably in the consultancy or trade sectors.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling tools.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Business Central).
