We are delighted to assist a medium-sized client in finding an experienced Transport & Fleet Operations Manager. They are involved in a high care / highly compliant field across ADR industrial-related operations. Their client base includes energy, engineering & all industrial sectors. The vehicles are bespoke & all staff are highly trained.

Minimum Requirements: A CPC qualified Transport Manager is essential. You must have had a deep input into running & overseeing all aspects of fleet & environmental operations, as well as driver management & related performance.

Role Summary: This role is as much about overall fleet & site compliance as it is about driver performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the maintenance and logistics of the company fleet nationwide in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Ensuring all work carried out within the transport department is done in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring all material transport is safe for transport and abides by transport legislation regarding driver’s hours.
  • Monitoring managed portals regulated by FTA for taco, working time directive, etc.
  • Maintaining the following regulations and accreditations: VOSA, ISO 9001 & 14001.
  • Overseeing housekeeping of vehicles and implementing improvements for day-to-day operations.
  • Discussing with Senior Management regarding the balance of the fleet and evaluating vehicle purchases to accommodate shortfalls.
  • Organising livery/vehicle graphics for new vehicles.
  • Maintaining driver’s training records, including in-house and external training (CPC, ADR, CCSNG, Confined Space).
  • Licensing/vehicle violation/speeding fine checks.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations for drivers and vehicles, acting as their main point of contact and allocating workload according to current operating licence legislation.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations in the workshop, including MOT’s, servicing, and vehicle repairs.
  • People management responsibilities for drivers and workshop staff, including recruitment, performance reviews, and sickness/absence management.
  • Inputting data onto the traffic system, transport planner.
