Calderdale Council is recruiting a leader who will promote kindness, opportunity and the chance for every child to \’live a larger life\’.
Calderdale is a great place to live and work and we have set an ambitious Vision for 2034. Due to the retirement of our current longstanding Director later this year, there is now an opportunity to lead a Children\’s Services Directorate which is creative, and rated Good by Ofsted, in a Council and a local partnership that is determined to do the best for our children and young people.
Our children are important to us, we take early intervention seriously, and we have integrated services and strong partnerships with the NHS, Police and a vibrant Voluntary Sector.
As a key member of the Council\’s Corporate Leadership Team, you will drive forward Calderdale\’s vision, providing strategic leadership to ensure that children and young people receiving social care services receive high-quality care and support within available resources. You will deliver a sustainable, place-based social care system for children, young people, and families in Calderdale. You will provide strategic leadership through advising elected members, and representing the Council at sub-regional, regional, and national levels. You will also be a key Corporate Leader in the Council and in place, with a collaborative leadership style, supporting a culture of innovation, curiosity, value for money, performance, and empowerment.
