Lead System Safety Engineer

We are seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer to join our team in Cheltenham. This is a hybrid role that offers a car allowance and bonus opportunities.

The ideal candidate will lead system safety assessments for cutting-edge Avionics and Power products, ensuring the highest level of safety and compliance with aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and execute system safety assessments across diverse projects, utilizing expert knowledge of civil certification requirements and safety analysis techniques.
2. Conduct detailed safety analyses, including Fault Tree and Common Mode Analysis, to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
3. Develop safety requirements to influence design improvements, ensuring that products meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.
4. Mentor and guide team members, promoting a strong safety culture and fostering open communication and collaboration.
5. Present complex safety information to senior stakeholders, contributing to strategic decision-making and driving business growth.

Essential Experience:

1. Engineering degree or equivalent experience, demonstrating expertise in aviation safety and regulatory compliance.
2. Extensive knowledge of safety analysis techniques, including SAE ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, and DEF STAN 00-56.
3. Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

1. Knowledge of ARP 4754, DO-178B/C, and DO-254, with experience in reliability analysis (FMEA, predictions) and regulatory compliance processes.
