About the Role: Are you an experienced Release Manager looking for a new challenge? Our client are on a journey to becoming a Digital First bank, and they need someone to help lead and deliver safe IT change that aligns with their vision. This role is key to driving the safe and successful implementation of software and hardware changes, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality objectives.As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire release lifecycle — from development and testing to deployment. You’ll work closely with teams across D&I, PMO, Change Management, Technical Support, and key business stakeholders to ensure that all releases are delivered safely and effectively, protecting our live services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the delivery of releases and major projects to agreed budgets and timescales, ensuring accurate release planning and process refinement.
- Manage the release lifecycle in accordance with standards, governance frameworks, and methodologies.
- Implement improvements to increase the performance and effectiveness of release management processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and innovations in release management.
- Ensure post-implementation review recommendations are embedded to enhance future releases.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Project Managers to define and agree on release scope.
- Lead cost-effective and efficient release management initiatives, driving innovation across all areas of the release process.
- Contribute to the overall IT strategy by designing and implementing solutions that align with business objectives.
- Manage senior stakeholders and ensure the overall quality assurance and integrity of the release is maintained.
- Oversee resource allocation for releases and manage the transition of releases into Business As Usual (BAU).
About You: We are looking for a proactive and experienced Release Manager who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering exceptional IT change. You will have:
- Extensive experience in implementation and deployment management, with a track record of delivering quality releases on time and within budget
- Strong background in Software Testing , with knowledge of testing management methodologies (e.g., ISEB)
- In-depth understanding of the testing lifecycle and phases
- Solid experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile)
- A thorough understanding of service management methodologies (e.g., ITIL)
