Equity Reseach Analyst

OVERALL PURPOSE
This role reports to the Global Head of Equity Management, supports him within the Equity Management team and involves equity research. This role will require close and regular interaction with the wider Equity Management team, as well as external interaction with custodians, companies Stonehage Fleming invests in (investor relations, senior management), potential service providers, and Third-Party Brokers/Analysts.

Key Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Undertake equity research projects by producing written in-depth, high-quality company and industry research reports.
2. Responsible for the research and recommendations of a smaller number of core universe companies.
3. Assist the Global Head of Equity Management with macro-research data and other equity management research projects and tasks.
4. Compile consolidated portfolio data and maintain the fund fact sheet.
5. Attend, participate in, and minute investment research meetings.
6. Adhere to Investment Management and Group Compliance policies and procedures, undertaking appropriate regulatory training and addressing potential breaches of compliance policies without delay.
7. Assist the Equity Management team with the running and maintenance of key data series, as well as ad-hoc tasks and marketing material as necessary.
8. Write other ad-hoc research reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Educated to degree level – preferably in a mathematical, business, or science-related discipline.
2. CFA qualification is highly preferred.
3. At least four years of previous experience conducting in-depth analytic research.
4. Good understanding and interpretation of company financials.
