Exciting Opportunity for a Financial Controller – Immediate Start
Talentedge is thrilled to present an outstanding opportunity for a Financial Controller (available immediately or on short notice) with a strong background in financial control and stock inventory management, on behalf of our dynamic client in the Media/Manufacturing space. This is a 6-month day rate role directly supporting the fractional CFO and offers significant exposure to senior management in a fast-paced industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards for 1-2 operating subsidiaries providing consolidated accounts.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring robust internal controls are in place to retain financial integrity.
- Lead the 1st external audit process and liaise with external auditors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide end-to-end cash management, from control of receivables and payables to managing the rolling cash forecast to ensure effective cash position reviews.
- Optimize working capital and implement strategies to improve cash flow efficiently.
- Review financial performance versus budgets and forecasts, providing commercial insights to senior executives and business partners across departments to implement effective budget control.
- Implement scalable financial systems and processes to support growth as the business expects a rise in revenue in the next 24 months.
- Provide leadership and support to cross-functional teams in marketing, sales, and operations. Manage key relationships for the overall finance function.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- ACA/ACCA Qualified with 5+ years PQE.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within a fast-growing startup or SME business.
- Experience in the FMCG, consumer goods, or retail sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting and compliance with UK GAAP.
- Extensive knowledge around balance sheet accounting, specifically in stock/inventory management (MUST HAVE).
- Experience managing audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting, with proficiency in Xero accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of challenges and building robust relationships with stakeholders.
