My client is a leading Investment Bank in London who are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join their busy team. Ideally you will be a Qualified Accountant from a Top 10 accountancy practice or have hands-on experience within an Investment Bank.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee financial accounting and control, including month-end and quarter-end adjustments, reconciliations, ledger close, and ensuring the accuracy of the trial balance.
- Manage and enhance the balance sheet substantiation process.
- Prepare various head office submissions in line with financial reporting requirements.
- Compile and submit monthly and quarterly regulatory financial reports to the BoE, PRA, and other authorities.
- Assist with FX P&L coverage and fee accrual processes.
- Support the preparation and review of audit confirmations and related queries.
- Collaborate with external auditors on quarterly and annual audit activities.
- Support new product rollouts and system implementations from a finance perspective.
- Work with Finance and other stakeholders to enhance controls and improve efficiency.
- Provide cover for team members and participate in cross-training initiatives.
- Develop expertise in accounting booking models across various products and systems to contribute to IT transformation projects.
- Investigate transactional data alongside business and operations teams to resolve historical balances.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with relevant experience in banking, financial services, or a Big 6 audit firm.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Strong control mindset with a sound understanding of financial processes and risk management.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
- Proactive and inquisitive mindset, with the ability to ask the right questions and provide financial insights.
- Solid understanding of the banking industry, with the ability to apply accounting knowledge to both existing and new products.
