Job Description

BI Analyst/ Business Analyst – Surrey
My client based in the Surbiton area is looking to recruit an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to work closely with the Business to understand the data, proactively producing new visualisations to support self-serve business data interrogation and ensure the entire data pipeline is fit for purpose. This is a business facing role in which you will be working closely with key stakeholders to proactively solutionize data requirements .

The BI Analyst will be able to demonstrate advanced technical skills to ensure the data warehouse, as well as the pipelines and transformations are fit for purpose. You will be proficient in query optimisation in order to provide efficient and reliable ETL and reports.
Within this role, the BI Analyst will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of building data warehouses suitable for PowerBI self-serve business use ·
  • Ability to liaise closely with the business to understand their requirements and motivations.
  • Proactively produce new and better ways to enable the Business to turn data into useful information
  • Design and implement data models representing business entities and relationships ·
  • Build and maintain data warehouses to support analytics and reporting.
  • Implement and data security measures that ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR2 Develop and manage ETL pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory and SSIS ·
  • Perform performance tuning and monitoring ·
  • Undertake Database administration.
  • Cleanse and transform data in preparation for analysis.

Technically, the BI Analyst will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Data visualization with PowerBI, Excel and SSRS
  • DAX
  • PowerBI data flows
  • Deployment pipelines
  • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, bash or other relevant data manipulation and automation languages ·
  • Advanced SQL
  • ETL processes
  • Familiarity with big data processing frameworks e.g. Pandas (python) and Spark.
