This position reports to the Quality Service Manager and is based at Guelph, Ontario Canada.

What you will do

The Compliance Lead is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

  • Being the Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) for Controlled Substances, overseeing the controlled substances program and all ARPIC (Alternate Responsible Person in Charge) personnel.
  • Conduct monthly and annual Controlled Substance reporting, communicating directly with the Health Canada Office of Controlled Substances.
  • Management and tracking of Regulatory changes.
  • Compile data and metrics and report Quality Systems Management Review (QSMR) on a quarterly basis to Guelph Leadership Team.
  • Accountable for the site Training Program and Internal Audit program deployment.
  • Overseeing the Technical Services (laboratory administration) team.
  • Coordinating and overseeing Regulatory and Corporate inspections, as the Back Room Lead.
  • Acting as the QA Approver for MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and CMMS (Calibration and Maintenance Management System) changes.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or related program.
  • Requires 6 or more years of related work experience.
  • Prior experience in leading a team.
  • Previous experience in a Laboratory or Quality Assurance setting is considered an asset.
  • Strong consideration will be given to candidates with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Prior experience with a food, water or pharmaceutical laboratory would be considered an asset, including Controlled Substances specifically.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.

  • Ability to lead a dynamic team (training, internal audit, laboratory administrators).
  • Multi-system experience and proven ability to work cross-functionally (Quality Assurance, Operations, Facility Services, Maintenance, etc).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and multitasking capabilities.
  • Strong personal computer skills.
  • Enjoy working to multiple deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
